The Manager, Risk Analytics  will have responsibility to lead analytics and reporting efforts across multiple risk functions, including credit strategy, KYC & customer verification, and chargeback operations. Will represent the Risk department on cross-functional teams working on strategic projects impacting data management and analytics. Will support senior leadership with detailed analyses and reporting to ensure strategic and operational decisions are information-based. This position requires a person who can roll up their sleeves and make things happen, has strong “card not present” (CNP) credit and fraud risk experience, and has a successful track record in the digital payments and/or financial services environments (web, mobile) with a focus on risk management and analytics. Will lead a team of Risk and Business Intelligence Analysts supporting primarily Risk but also other functions.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze unique internal and external data to gain deep business knowledge and insight on customer activity and usage behaviors and their relationships with fraud and credit risk

  • Identify trends, patterns, procedural and strategic opportunities that will improve loss prevention, detection results, and customer satisfaction.

  • Perform analysis and enhance analytic tools to monitor portfolio credit risk and flag accounts for review

  • Evaluate, analyze and leverage a range of statistical to recommend, review and implement decisions that will have a positive impact on the P&L.

  • Conduct analysis of current and historic data (e.g. authorizations, write off data, chargebacks) to keep our systems and processes at the cutting edge of risk analytics.

  • Conduct regular evaluation of portfolios from both an operational and financial benefit perspective. Suggest changes and improvements as necessary.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups such as Compliance, Finance, Customer Support and Product Management to enhance tools, system functionalities, and loss mitigation methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelors/Post-Graduate degree in Quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Economics, or equivalent is desired with 3 to 5 years of total work experience

  • Proven experience in employing mathematical models, statistical algorithms, and data mining on real world problems

  • Required technical skills and experience with coding and scripting (SQL, R, Visual Basic) , dashboard and BI tools (Tableau, Crystal Reports) and database management (SQL Server)

  • Expertise in manipulating and analyzing very large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets using SAS/SQL

  • Ability to translate complex technical issues and advanced concepts into understandable terms for executives and business partners.

  • Creative problem solver, analytical thinker, and quick learner. Strong conceptual and creative problem-solving skills; ability to work with considerable ambiguity; ability to learn new and complex concepts quickly. Relentlessly resourceful and scrappy

  • Experience in ecommerce, payments or financial services with knowledge of Card Not Present (CNP) and ACH payments preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
