The International Finance Manager reports to the Corporate Controller. The role holder interacts with cross-functional teams. He/(she) is responsible for closing the books monthly, ensuring that accounting entries are calculated and booked correctly, the balance sheet is fully reconciled so that company’s profit and loss account and balance sheet reflect the correct state of affairs at the balance sheet date. The role holder will also liaison with the international operational accounting team.
Oversee the month end close cycle, ensuring that the books are closed timely and accurately
Support international operational accounting team as needed
Support the international collections team on accounting-related issues
Preparation of monthly journal entries
Review & approve balance sheet account reconciliations – ensure reconciling items are resolved timely
Responsible for the development, revision, and implementation of accounting policies & procedures
Manage the external audit for all international legal entities
Liaison with external auditors and other advisors
Assist in various financial audits to support Accounting Operations to compile support and facilitate requests to ensure timely completion
Ensure all company taxes are accurately prepared, filed and paid by the due dates
Ensure all VAT or GST returns are filed timely
Manage treasury positions for all international entities
Oversee, with legal, company filings with the CRO
Training & development of direct reports
Adhoc reporting to government agencies including the Central Bank of Ireland
Monthly Management Reporting Pack and Monthly Opex analysis
Prepare statutory financial statements for all international legal entities
Assist with board package preparation
Undertaking professional development training to stay abreast of changes within the business, such as process changes or changes in the technology tools required to perform the role. 20 hours annual CPD mandated by the accountancy bodies
Qualified accountant (4 years post qualified) with an accredited accountancy body (ACCA/CIMA/CPA/ACA)
5 years’ experience in a commercial environment
BS/BA degree in Accounting
Audit and financial reporting experience an advantage
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Demonstrate flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to changes resulting from a dynamic and growing business environment
Must be accurate, detailed oriented, and able to work quickly with a sense of urgency
Strong analytical skills, with the proven ability to analyse processes and implement continuous improvements
Strong proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.
NetSuite experience desirable
Possess strong clerical and organizational skills with attention to detail
Will have the ability to prioritize duties, meet deadlines, and function as a team manager to accomplish job functions
Possess the ability to comprehend general ledger impact of accounting transactions
Will have the ability to handle a large volume of accounting processing accurately and efficiently
Will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. High standard of customer service to contacts both within and outside the company
Leading & managing a small team
Assist with ad-hoc projects as required
