The Assistant Financial Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager. The role holder interacts with cross-functional teams. Assists the Accounting Manager to close the books monthly, ensures that accounting entries are calculated and booked correctly so that company’s profit and loss account and balance sheet reflect the correct state of affairs at the balance sheet date. The Assistant Financial Accountant also supports the Accounting Operations team by assisting with daily packets. The Assistant Financial Accountant will have dotted line reporting to Ireland Financial Accountant.


Primary Responsibilities

  • • Support the international collections team, reconcile AR customer accounts, resolve unreconciled items

  • • International daily packets as assigned

  • • Preparation of monthly journal entries

  • • Responsible for balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve any unreconciled items appropriately

  • • Other accounting activities include fixed assets, accounts payable, prepayments, accruals and accounting for other liabilities

  • • Assist in the development, revision, and implementation of accounting procedures

  • • Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts

  • • Assist with bi monthly VAT returns and VIES returns

  • • Periodic reporting to the Central Bank of Ireland

  • • Perform additional duties as assigned by Accounting Manager or Financial Accountant

  • • Undertaking professional development training to stay abreast of changes within the business, such as process changes or changes in the technology tools required to perform the role

Requirements

  • • Part-qualified accountant with an accredited accountancy body (ACCA/CIMA/CPA/ACA) or possess an equivalent overseas degree

  • • 2 years’ experience in a commercial environment

  • • Strong proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • • NetSuite experience desirable

  • Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • • Must be accurate, detail orientated, and able to work quickly with a sense of urgency

  • • Strong analytical skills, with the proven ability to analyse processes and suggest/implement continuous improvements

  • • Demonstrate flexibility and ability to quickly adapt to changes resulting from a dynamic and growing business environment

  • • Possess strong clerical and organizational skills with attention to detail

  • • Will have the ability to prioritize duties, meet deadlines, and function as a team member to accomplish job functions

  • • Possess the ability to comprehend general ledger impact of accounting transactions

  • • Will have the ability to handle a large volume of accounting processing accurately and efficiently

  • • Will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. High standard of customer service to contacts both within and outside the company

  • Qualifications

  • • Part-qualified accountant with an accredited accountancy body (ACCA/CIMA/CPA/ACA) or equivalent business degree
